1. Who we are

baobabonline.net is run by Baobab Technologies Limited, a company registered in Uganda, of Kingstower Mall, Kabalagala, Kampala, Uganda. Email: info@baobabonline.net. Phone: +256 753 791 499.

2. What we sell

Printed books by African writers, delivered by courier; digital design files sold with a licence; and custom design work made to your brief. For digital files you buy a licence to use them, not ownership of the artwork; see the licence page.

3. Orders and payment

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, then place your order. Placing an order takes no payment. When you place an order, we email you an invoice, with a secure link to pay on our payment provider's page. You can pay by card (Visa or Mastercard, in US dollars). Card payments are processed by our bank with 3-D Secure, and we do not store card numbers. Your order is confirmed when we have confirmed the payment, and we then email your receipt. Prices are in US dollars, and your bank may add a currency conversion fee. The minimum order is US$10, before delivery, and the maximum US$2,000, including delivery.

4. Delivery

Books are delivered as set out on the delivery page. Digital files appear in your account under Downloads within one business day of payment. Their download links work for 30 days and up to 5 downloads, and each comes with a licence certificate.

5. Custom design work

• Scope and price. Each commission's price and what it includes are shown on its product page. We confirm your brief by email or a short call within one business day of your order.
• Timing. We agree the timeline with you when we confirm the brief, based on the scope of the work. Work starts when we have confirmed your payment. Delays while we wait for your files or feedback are added to the timeline.
• Changes. Two rounds of changes are included. Further rounds, or a change to the confirmed brief, are quoted before we start.
• Ownership. When the final files are delivered and paid for, the copyright in them passes to you. For a commissioned art series you get exclusive, unlimited rights instead. We may show finished work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
• Your material. You confirm you have the right to use any logos, text, photos or references you send us.

6. Returns and refunds

See the returns and refunds policy. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under Ugandan consumer law.

7. Our responsibility

Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law does not allow this.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
